Back at the house, I got a bad feeling when I couldn't find you. And I got scared.

That feeling didn't go away until I found you again.

[He stares at the water for a long while before looking at her again.

Subtly, one finger brushes against her hand, a touch of uncertainty behind it.]

Even after all of that? Even knowing it was me?

Yeah.

[A gentle squeeze.]

[At first, he's just staring at her with bemusement.

Then, after several seconds, he slides his glasses off... and then onto her face. They probably look a little ridiculous if she didn't stop it.]

[A small, amused noise escapes, and her hand comes up to adjust them ever-so-slightly into place.]

[His lips twitch just a little, a soft sound of amusement sneaking out.]

Much better than I ever did in them...

[She tilts her head a little, giving a playful grin.]

Then what are those noises for?

[He looks down, considering the question.]

... I don't actually know.

[She smiles at him for a moment, then turns back, leaning against him as she looks out to the water.

After a moment, she asks gently:]

You gonna be alright?

I'm always alright.

[According to himself......]

Yeah... don't know about that after that song you sent me, champ.

[Her hand finds its way back over his, thumb caressing the top of it.]

[He sighs quietly, and then turns until their faces are just inches apart.]

And? What difference does it really make?

[She looks to him. Ah. They are... awfully close, aren't they? Her cheeks... heat up just a little bit.]

In the grand scheme of things, not much, I suppose.
